Liberal Destruction

...the picture says it all

"Liberal"

What is a person called who questions everything and finds ways to disprove everything just for the sake of doing it? What do you call a person who defends guilty parties including terrorists to the point that they have more rights than the people they harm? What do you call a person who protects a person that hates you and would kill you if they had a chance? What do you call a people who have such a great sense of self entitlement that they cause businesses close and jobs get exported to third world countries? What do call people who come from middle class and wealthy families but pretend to understand and know what is best for the struggling and poor in our society by giving them reasons to never work and feel self pity? What kind of people are so unpatriotic that they cannot even support those who chose to sacrifice their lives defending the constitution of the United States and the freedom of those who cannot defend it themselves? What group of people control the media and decide what the rest of us should and should not see and hear? What same group of people has the right to slander anyone who does not hold the same beliefs but will not tolerate your disapproval of their beliefs? Who never has to apologize for their words or actions? Who panders to race, sex and creed as qualifications rather than experience, skill, ability, dependability and determination?  It sounds like I am describing an enemy of the state but alas I am just describing most of the hardcore liberals I have run into lately!

Accountability

It is human nature to be lazy and complain and find the faults in everything around you but, it is the logic of humans that is supposed to force us to find solutions to the problems around us. Pointing the finger of blame at someone else and implying that you could have done better is moot because you will never have the chance to repeat that same scenario. Liberals spend their time looking down their noses at the rest of us and have somehow determined that they must be more intelligent than us. That is why they have that self righteous little smirk on their faces when they are alone and someone makes a statement against their philosophy. They are just thinking to themselves..."poor, ignorant person, too bad you aren't friends with my friends and haven't read the books I read or listen to the commentary I listen to then you would be well informed!" Its the same way they look at you when you don't drive a hybrid or opt for a plastic bag at the store instead of bringing your own hemp bag from home. It is part of the classic group dynamic. There is usually only one person in a group with the confidence, strength and ability to lead the group but as soon as the group encounters a difficult task they complain and pretend they would be better leaders although refuse to step up. It is always leaders who have to do the difficult work and make the difficult decisions. Somehow the rest of the group feels that they are entitled to rewards and gratitude for their uncooperative involvement. They always act surprised and angry when they are reprimanded or even asked to leave because of their actions. They usually begin campaigning to the other members to disagree with the ruling and consider the action unfair.

"Lord of the Flies politics"

This is what I call it and it is what our system has devolved into. I can't solely blame the liberals I have described above. I have to recognize that there are extremes in both major parties. We as "Conservatives" have lowered ourselves to the liberals level in the way we ultimately deal with these situations. Getting into mud slinging contests and negative information campaigns is not effective. Ignoring the situation silently instead of issuing public response is also not effective. It is this second method that has caused the rapid decline in conservative vote. I think that partisan mentality in itself is keeping our society fragmented and hurts us in the long run. What if you had to stand on your own and understand issues without just following party lines? What if legislature was passed the same way no left or right of the aisle, just one audience voting based on personal understanding and individual decision? Imagine if we had unbiased reporting of issues in this country with multiple view points so we could make informed decisions? It is sickening to me to hear liberal affiliations in every facet of the media. It is very hard to ascertain the facts in any situation these days because you only see and hear a liberal interpretation of events. People have argued with me that the liberal point of view is so vast and strong because it is the consensus of the people. I disagree. If you only receive what is handed to you and the person handing it to you has a liberal agenda then you will only get what they intend, a one sided story. It is this combined with the basic human nature I described above that causes this anomaly. They are crafty though. If I keep people misinformed and give them just enough to barely live, without working they will continue to be uninformed and not work through generations thinking the liberals who provide this life for them are their saviors. Luckily for liberals, those people are urged to vote by liberal constituents even driven to the polls on buses...free of charge of course!

Reform

Special interest groups funding and bribing politicians is about as anti-American as you can get. You elect an official based on their campaign platform and then they become a lobby whore on capital hill. They don't disclose up front that they have made these alliances and you can't see what goes on behind closed doors so think they are still representing your best interest. Campaign finance reform is one of the biggest problems and has to be a priority in future reform. There need to be a set spending limits and contribution restrictions with uniform parameters so we can get a fair view of all candidates instead of just the wealthiest and most powerful. The American ideal is that any citizen meeting the criteria can be the President by election. This is a far cry from the actuality of politics today.

Disenfranchised

Overall, I am just tired of elected officials who do not represent me or my beliefs, destroying my country and giving away what is left. Most of them are only in it for themselves and don't know the meaning of self sacrifice. I don't think they love America, they just love their easy lifestyle and when the going gets tough they will turn their back on it in a heart beat. I am not a gun nut or a war monger but I believe in our right to bear arms. It is insane to think that in the political climate of the world today we cannot be challenged or attacked. If we are we will need to be defended the same way we were hundreds of years ago...by armed militia but, not if they don't have weapons to defend this country. Who are these people that don't want us to bear arms? There are billions of muslims in this world now who wish to kill all infidels, hundreds of thousands living here in the U.S. and the number is growing every day. They are not civil and will not stand in court arguing. Unfortunately they are just one of our enemies. Lets not forget North Korea and China who together have the power to dramatically change the geopolitical picture of the world let alone the United States. Let there be a real threat to the freedom we take for granted and you will see who can lead this country. That is when we will be called upon to solve the biggest and worst problem in American history. A problem caused by losing our pride, patriotism and national identity.

Where do we start?

We have known about the perils of foreign oil for decades. When I was a child my parents were activists against it. The middle east conflict isn't good but at least it has finally drawn enough attention to the problem to get results (that and the misrepresentation that people can stop global warming. The universe has and will again do that on its own). We must continue to find alternative clean fuels and ways to conserve energy. If we can't do that then we need to lift drilling restrictions in areas that belong to us that we know contain fossil fuel. We also need to address the inequities in our legal system. I believe in freedom and in the constitutional rights we all have. What I do not believe is that anyone has the right to interpret them anyway they want. While freedom of speech provides the right to speak freely it has been interpreted to let liberal lawyers twist laws into tools of destruction. That is where there needs to be intervention. When litigation causes more problems than it solves and we are afraid to punish the perpetrators it needs to be cleaned up. If I own a restaurant that is handicap accessible but not for one 900 lb person do I deserve to loose my business over an outrageous settlement? How does that benefit anyone or any group? What about labor law that is so extreme entrepreneurs can't afford to start a business or a business that has been around for decades has to close. If you kill someone in front of witnesses and are caught with the weapon in your hand you can go free if someone forgets to read your miranda rights to you? If you fly a plane into a skyscraper as part of a plot to destroy America and live you will be protected. If you refuse to tell us about other eminent threats you don't have to talk and we will prevent you even having a bucket of water poured on your head. If the roles were reversed and we were on attacking one of our enemies on foreign soil and were caught we would be electrocuted, have teeth pulled, holes drilled into our bodies, burned with acid and decapitated but only after our families were tracked down and murdered. There are countless examples of litigation being anti-American, counter productive and contributing to the decay of our society. Whether it be civil liberty, business or criminal defense it is very dangerous and has gotten out of control. It is not a complete solution to the problem but if we can intervene and restore justice to the legal system in this country we might be able to come together and rebuild what has been lost. I also believe that we need some form of public assistance but it needs to be heavily monitored to avoid abuse and fraud. It should be temporary and possibly need to be paid back. I have often said that we should give vocational aptitude tests to people on public assistance and put them to work at city, county, state and federal entry level jobs instead of having people doing nothing. In that scenario we are paying twice where in my scenario we only pay once. At a municiple level it would be great if all road work was done by prisons instead of paying for ludicrous contracts to independant companies. Change health department restrictions on redistribution of restaurant leftovers to supply foodbanks and reward trucking companies with tax breaks for use of their refrigerated trucks and drivers for the distribution. We must find ways to solve problems starting in out own communities using resources already at our disposal instead of just throwing money we don't have at them. Bottom line, we need to get jobs back into our country and get everyone who is ablebodied working and paying taxes as soon as possible and the problems will start fixing themselves. Raising taxes and outsourcing labor are the antithesis of this solution. We were the most powerful country on the earth and only have our selves to blame for the dabacle we are faced with now. We need to stop pointing and complaining and get to work. We just need to take a minute and remember all that our forefathers went through and the lessons of past catastrophes. We can fix this.

Elb...This has been an absolutely riveting Hub, brilliantly presented without rancor or abusive commentary...

I found your remarks strangely sad, sad because so many Americans can be swayed by personality, so many that do not think critically, so many that buy into the MSM liberal slant. It truly saddens me that our schools have succeeded in dumbing down so many, distracted them with environmental agendas, and removed the word competition from the curriculum, to be replaced with self esteem preservation...

Welcome to HubPages..you are sure to stir the pot and hopefully generate some intelligent dialogue here, rather than the usual Bush bashing, America hating, and Obama apologists that have a Johnny -one-note take on anything conservative...Thank you, Larry

Good one elb, let's hope the August recess puts so much pressure on the liberals that they crack, and health care takeover fails, along with Cap and Spend, a bill that gurantees out sourcing on a level never before imagined.
